Season 1
  • Are you in a leadership position at a Creative Youth Development organization?
  • Are you run down and burnt out by toxic stress, fatigue, and chaos that can plague under-resourced and over-extended CYD organizations?
  • Are you looking for strategies and support to lead your organization in ways that center health and wellness?

Join us for Centering Healing & Thriving in Creative Youth Development - a peer learning cohort at The Clare Rose Center for CYD.

Our first four-month season in this learning series is focused on Thriving CYD Leaders, and is intended to serve executive directors, artistic directors, team managers, and key decision-makers at CYD organizations.

We’ll gather for monthly live sessions to work together on practices that support individual, organizational, and field-wide health and wellness in Creative Youth Development work.

If you “don’t have time” for this series, you need to join us! Give yourself the gift of 2 hours a month to create a more manageable, sustainable, and balanced work culture for yourself and your team, that will ultimately benefit the youth you serve.

In between sessions, you’ll have access to an on-going virtual learning community, hosted on Mighty Networks. We know that real change can’t happen in a few webinars, so we’ve developed a space for participants to connect, be accountable, receive support, share success, and troubleshoot challenges in real-time to truly move the needle for healthy organizational cultures in CYD.

Participants can drop-in to individual sessions, but we recommend and encourage making a commitment to the entire season. Attending the full season will ensure you have all of the tools and resources needed to care for your individual and organizational wellness, and that you can be part of a field-wide movement toward healthy cultures for CYD organizations.

Participation in the full season is $77 and drop-in sessions are $22. All webinar recordings and learning materials will be recorded and saved, so you can register for all of the sessions even if you might not be able to attend every date live.

Our other upcoming seasons will include Thriving Youth & Communities and Thriving CYD Workforce, and we’ll share more information and updates as the dates get closer.

For information about registration, email Katie Lorge at katie@clarerosefoundation.org.

SESSION 1

Thriving CYD Leaders:
The Foundation for Healthy Cultures

Friday, March 11
9:30-11:30am PT / 12:30-2:30pm ET

In our first session, we’ll start with building a vision of our individual healing and thriving and examining the ways that our personal unresolved traumas, belief systems, learned behaviors, and habits can undermine our success as leaders and sabotage the healthy cultures we want within our organizations. Together, we’ll identify leadership pitfalls, pain points, and barriers to thriving within ourselves that can trigger reactions that ripple through organizations and cause chaos, confusion, and ultimately, burnout. We’ll begin to build our healing & thriving toolkit with best practices and creative solutions, and create an action plan to shift individual behaviors in a way that sets a foundation for healthy and sustainable organizational cultures that start with our leadership.

SESSION 2

From Self-Care to Community Care: Rooting into Integrity, Accountability & Support

Friday, April 8
9:30-11:30am PT / 12:30-2:30pm ET

In our second session, we’ll build upon the learnings and reflections from our first session, exploring the power we have as leaders to create healthy workplace cultures and communities, starting with ourselves. In a world where so many leaders have so little time for meaningful reflection and connection with peers, we will practice slowing down to make space for both. We’ll tend to some of the root causes of toxic stress and grind culture that often plague CYD organizations, addressing the decision fatigue, scarcity mindset, and isolation that cause us to compromise our integrity, harm interpersonal relationships, and keep us from living into our values and true purpose. We’ll add to our healing & thriving toolkit by working with transformational and restorative leadership concepts and somatic practices that can keep us out of silos & burnout, help us stay the course with integrity and support when things get tough, and ultimately lead healthy teams and organizations rooted in mutual care.

SESSION 3

Organizational Wellness:
Scaling Wellness for Strong and Sustainable Organizations

Friday, May 6
9:30-11:30am PT / 12:30-2:30pm ET

Our third session will examine how systems - nonprofit, philanthropic, governmental, societal, economic, and environmental - can impact and impede our ability to center wellness in our organizations. We’ll learn healing-centered principles for navigating the pressures of external conditions that are “out of our control,” so they don’t wreak havoc on our organizational workflow and strategy. We’ll hear from CYD leaders who are bravely making paradigm shifts to prioritize health & well-being in their own organizations. We’ll identify things within our control that we can change, and create strategies for protecting a healthy organizational culture in the face of harmful systems, to sustain our work and wellness through any challenge.

SESSION 4

Collective Action Panel:
Creating a Field-Wide Culture of Wellness for CYD

Friday, June 3
9:30-11:30am PT / 12:30-2:30pm ET

Our final session will bring together CYD leaders, funders, policy makers, and community partners to work toward field-wide, systemic change in support of healthy work cultures at CYD organizations. We’ll share our learnings and ideas with decision-makers who have power and position to advocate for the needs expressed by CYD leaders. This session will open up a much-needed dialogue about how the field can work together to ensure that all of us working in CYD have stable, sustainable, and balanced work lives.
