The Clare Rose Center for Creative Youth Development is a philanthropic intermediary that invests in leadership and infrastructure to convene, connect, and curate the resources, relationships, and opportunities needed to strengthen the field of Creative Youth Development.

Creative Youth Development taps into the innate creativity, talent, and strengths of young people, fostering youth voice and agency to address the issues most impacting them and the communities they live in.

We are uniquely positioned to bring together CYD programs, peer funders, community stakeholders, and young people for peer learning & support, to form strategic partnerships & collaborations, and exchange ideas & resources to strengthen each other and the field of CYD as a whole.

We believe that equitable access to funding and resources, networks of peer support, and ongoing education and advocacy about the field of CYD can transform how we all work together and create the conditions needed for Creative Youth Development to thrive.

Capacity Building

The Center has the ability and position to connect large foundations and public funding to small community-based organizations and individuals doing CYD work, redistributing financial resources in the field and making new funding available to those who would not otherwise be able to access it. We also work closely with CYD leaders, practitioners, and youth to build systems and infrastructure that support sustainability and strength in their organizations and programs, so they’re set up to successfully manage opportunities to scale and deepen their work

Field Building

We believe that collective action is the most powerful tool we have to strengthen the field of CYD. The Center is a key partner in connecting individuals, organizations, and investors with the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to support CYD work. We also know that the challenges facing many CYD organizations can’t be solved by increased financial investments alone, so The Center simultaneously provides on-going advocacy, education, tools, and resources that support our goal of strengthening the field.

The Center serves as the operational backbone, fiscal sponsor, and primary funding partner for a number of collective action projects for the field. We know that collective action requires a dedicated driver to be successful, and The Center fills that role on behalf of our partners and colleagues, working in close collaboration to steward the goals and priorities that they define.
